The few rules that are being posted are primarily basic rules that every "intermediate" to "expert" role player must/should know by heart already; but just in case, the rules will now be laid out in advance. There may also be rules regarding the forum itself, so peruse carefully. Rules could be altered at any moment, so it would be best to check on them frequently.
1. Be literate. This forum considers itself as being literate; this being said, chat speak is not appreciated nor accepted in the forum area. It is often difficult for some or most role players to understand, and it disrupts the quality of the piece being played out. If anyone wishes to type in chat speak, then it can be put in the appropriate area; the general discussion board was made subsequently for this part. Now, if there are any objections to this rule, the person making the objections could simply leave if he/she so wishes.
2. Post Detailed Enough Paragraph form is the basic concept of this forum, and will be the only acceptable form here. Three or more paragraphs would be enough to get your concept through, and one liners are to absolutely not be use under any circumstance. To give you a bit of a guiding mark, you must have at least one hundred words per post to be acceptable. Though, this is merely the limit; nearly two hundred would be nice, or more would be greatly appreciated.
3. No god moding or power playing. God moding or power playing is considered faulty by any standards on this forum. Not necessarily will anyone be "punished" for an action of gm or pp at first, but sufficient warnings will be held in account. If this action of gm or pp continues, accounts may be removed and participants may be banned. I do not appreciate banning people from any forum, but if traits do not stay in alignment, I certainly will.
Now, because not everyone may know what god moding or power playing is all about, here is a brief explanation. A character cannot resemble that of a perfect being, this goes highly unappreciated by other role players, and it tends to make threads rather boring to participate in. Also, no permission is granted to control of the actions or reactions of another person's character. To bring this into reality, here is a short example of wrong and right:
Wrong
"[Character A] stabs [Character B]. [Character B] dies."
Right
"[Character A] stabs at [Character B]."
Of course, these are merely simple examples. Obviously, the ones used in the role play will be much more dynamic than these, but the principle still remains. An action can be made, but please allow the other person to make the decision for what shall happens to his/her own character.
4. Stay active. Forums often die when role players suddenly "vanish." If anyone wants to be apart of this forum, then great, but if anyone believes that he/she cannot participate on at least a semi-active basis, then please do not create an account in the first place. If an account has been created, and if there is suspicion that the owner may not come back, the account will be deleted. Now, if the owner wishes to come back, he/she will have to reapply his/her application in order to be accepted again.
5. No spamming. This is a very important rule. Spamming is considered as a horrible offense to this forum. If there is any proof that real spamming has occurred on the forum, accounts may be deleted, depending on the severity of the situation. I have stated that I do not like deleting accounts and banning members, but I will not hesitate for this issue.
6. Be respectful. This rule should be a rather obvious one. No member would ever want to be treated with disrespect; so, to prevent this from happening, be nice to each other. If there is a serious issue, it can be talked over in discussion with me, or with other designated members. If nothing can be resolved, and the situation becomes too much to handle, if the problems become too erratic, members may be suspended or deleted if that is the case. I will not necessarily ban any member for this issue, but if such people become too bothersome, I will.
7. Limit Language. This forum is designed for role players of all ages (between 13 and up) to participate in. I am quite certain that some of the other members find it rather inappropriate to have to read cussing, cursing, or any such derogatory language.
Now, all language will not be completely restricted; if you feel that it is completely necessary to add a certain speak into the post, then please consult an administrator. Related to this, a creative language could be used instead of foul or demeaning words. Please, think clearly before posting anything unnecessary. Warnings will be given out after first use, but if repeated mishap occurs, a ban or suspension may be necessary.
8. No Adult Content. In some forums, it is quite acceptable for there to be some section, or warning system that allows certain adult themes to be involved in posts. This board, however, is different; that is, adult content is not allowed at all, and will be deleted immediately upon being read by an administrator. When said content is posted, there will be no warning before the immediate ban of the account that made the post. This is your warning.
9. Permitted Images. Both an avatar and signature may be put in their respected places, however, there are certain restrictions on the type of image, and the size of image. First, there must be no explicit, adult content or exceedingly violent images. Other members have a right to view the images as well, so it is only right if the images were suitable for all audiences. Now, about their sizes; for the avatar, its maximum size is the regulated 100 by 100 pixels, and for the signature, a maximum of 600 by 200 pixels is allowed. This is so the page will not stretch, and also, so the image will not clutter any threads. We will notify you if you have gone out of these limits, and if no response or changes have been made after a few days, the images will be deleted. Also, if you don't have a place to host the images, ask an administrator to do it for you, or to be explained where an available free hosting site is at.
